About Us
The Hoyland Lowe Stand Trust - we simply want the landmark to be still standing in another 100 years time,
still accessible to all, not 'blocked in' by industrial development and also flood-lit at night to highlight
the landmark to all. The Trust is in the process of trying to obtain Ownership of the Land, and therefore, hopefully,
will own the Stand one day - as members of the Trust, it will be our job to support the Trust with resources required to try
and carry out this.....

The Current Situation
Is that Barnsley MBC (Current Owners), acknowledge the poor state of repair of the building. But with the council
having to sell off land & buildings to finance projects for new schools etc, then this landmark and it's
land originally went onto a list to be auctioned off.
After a successful petition by local residents, where over 1,400 people signed up, the council then decided to put
it on the 'Year 3 List'. This fundamentally means the same situation will occur again in the near future.
It is at this point where the trust hopes to have secured some form of agreement to what will happen to the landmark
and who will be held responsible for it.
